Getting Ready!

As the days roll closer and closer to my departure date, I cannot believe how much work I have done to prepare, and yet how much work is ahead of me. Most of the paperwork and technical stuff is done; the thing to worry about now is PACKING. How on earth am I going to fit a semester's worth of clothing, shoes, hygienic items, and other personal items in only a couple of suitcases? This is no easy task. I've done a bunch of research, and have asked a lot of questions, but the thought of packing in this manner is still overwhelming. Tips or advice are welcome!

Also, I know about 5 words in Italian. This fact is also a bit frightening. So far, I can say "Hello," "Excuse me," "Where is the bathroom" and "Please don't touch me!".....all of which I think will be helpful.

On a brighter note, I have official plans for weekend excursions. The trips are through the school (LdM), which is wonderful because everything is already planned. On one weekend, I will be going to the Bay of Naples, which is in south Italy. I will be seeing these following places...

Island of Capri! Famous for being a paradise location for Roman Emperors.

Sorrento! City on the Amalfi Coast, great nightlife and shopping.

Pompeii....need I say more?

Another weekend, I will be going to Switzerland and more of Northern Italy. I'll be seeing...

St. Moritz

Lake Como in Italy.

Needless to say, I am extremely excited to go to these beautiful places. I am really so happy and lucky to have this opportunity, and I can already say with utter confidence (even though I haven't left yet) that in your college career, STUDY ABROAD!!!

Stay tuned!
